The advantages of textile lines over monofilament ones are countless, but the first and most important asset is their breaking strength at the knot or linearly. There are multiple situations where a smaller line diameter helps us achieve a much more elegant presentation of the bait on the hook or the fishing lure.

Of course, the strength offered by a textile line is also an advantage if we are fishing in areas with snags, where we need to prevent the fish from escaping during the fight.

Evidently, a thin diameter and greater strength also mean longer and more accurate casts. Imagine casting with a 0.10mm textile line at distances similar to a 0.25mm monofilament, and the ratio holds true for larger diameters as well - so that above 0.45mm, the casting distance with monofilament becomes increasingly shorter due to the increased diameter.
